Senior RAF Appointments

Air Vice-Marshal S. J. Hillier, CBE, DFC, to be Director Information Superiority in the Ministry of Defence and Air Member for Equipment Capability in October 2010, in succession to Air Vice-Marshal C. W. Dixon, OBE, whose next appointment as Commander Joint Helicopter Command has already been announced.

Air Commodore R. Lock, CBE, to be promoted air vice-marshal and to be Commandant Joint Services Command & Staff College in July 2010, in succession to Major-General G. J. Binns, CBE, DSO, MC.

Air Commodore P. C. Osborn, CBE, to be promoted air vice-marshal and to be Air Officer Commanding No 2 Group in October 2010, in succession to Air Vice-Marshal S. J. Hillier, CBE, DFC.

Air Commodore B. Cooper, CBE, to be Commandant Air Cadets on June 1, 2010, in succession to Air Commodore I. R. W. Stewart.

Air Commodore S. K. Dobb, CBE, to be Deputy United Kingdom Military Representative (NATO) and Chief of Staff on May 10, 2010, in succession to Brigadier J. W. R. Thorn, CBE.

Air Commodore M. E. West to be Assistant Chief of Staff Support & Air Officer Commanding Directly Administered Units in August 2010, in succession to Air Commodore K. L. O'Dea, whose next appointment as Commander Joint Force Logistics Organisation in the Permanent Joint Headquarters has already been announced.

Air Commodore I. R. W. Stewart to be United Kingdom National Military Representative Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe on May 24, 2010, in succession to Brigadier D. C. Eccles, CBE.

Royal Navy and Royal Marines

Commodore A. R. Rymer, Royal Navy, to be promoted Rear Admiral and to be Director Training, Education and Skills in succession to Major-General T. G. Inshaw with effect from April 28, 2010.

Brigadier M. W. Dunham, OBE, Royal Marines, to attend a short-term university placement with effect from May 2010, and thereafter to the Royal College of Defence Studies as a student from September 2010.

Brigadier W. J. Taylor, OBE, Royal Marines, to be Defence Adviser Canberra in succession to Brigadier J. M. F. Robbins, MBE, Royal Marines, with effect from August 2010.

Captain S. J. Woodcock, OBE, Royal Navy, is promoted commodore and is Head of Pay and Manning with the Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff (Personnel) in succession to Commodore D. G. Steel, CBE, Royal Navy, with effect from April 8, 2010.

Captain C. M. L. Clarke, OBE, Royal Navy, to be Job Evaluation Judge (Royal Navy) within the Naval Staff Directorate in succession to Captain S. W. Upright, Royal Navy, with effect from June 2010.

Captain R. G. Stewart, Royal Navy, to be Captain Admiralty Interview Board in succession to Captain E. M. King, Royal Navy, with effect from July 2010.

Captain N. R. Corrigan, Royal Navy, to be Chief Operations Plans with the Maritime Component Commander at Northwood Headquarters in succession to Captain I. Turner, OBE, Royal Navy, with effect from July 2010.

Colonel M. L. Smith, MBE, Royal Marines to be Assistant Director (Strategy) within the Naval Staff Directorate in succession to Colonel S. M. Birrell, DSO, Royal Marines with effect from August 2010.
