Volunteer and ex-Regular members of the Reserve Forces will continue to deploy to Afghanistan as part of this integrated force package, and around 300 call-out notices are expected to be issued. On completion of their mobilisation procedures, the reservists will undertake a period of training and, where applicable, integration with their respective receiving units. The majority will serve on operations for around six months. As part of this commitment, up to six members of the Sponsored Reserves could be in theatre at any one time.
The UK's conventional force level is expected to remain at 9,500 for the duration of the deployment.
12th Mechanized Brigade's planned replacement formation will be 4th Mechanized Brigade. (Op Herrick 17)
