A North East-based UK company which has outlets in China and the USA has won a £900k Ministry of Defence contract for lubricants for the Defence Fuels Group (DFG), Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S), GB-Wimborne. Kilfrost Ltd, Haltwhistle, Northumberland, will supply AL-34, AL-36 and Kilfrost 400 to various MoD establishments in the UK. The total value of the contract is £923,796.

Kilfrost has associated companies in Florida and Beijing. The company pioneered de-icing and anti-icing technology, with the Kilfrost Winter Division supplying industry for over 75 years. The Kilfrost Speciality Fluids Division produces a broad spectrum of heat transfer fluids which are used in a wide variety of heating and cooling applications.

Broady Flow Control Ltd, Hull, has been awarded a £660,000 contract from GB-Bristol to supply "valves defined by function". Broady supply both standard and bespoke products in carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium bronze, duplex and many other materials. Broady's non-ferrous foundry produces castings to Class 1, 2 and 3, primarily in aluminium bronze, for supply direct to external customers as well as producing castings for Broady products. The company has developed a complete range of Relief, Safety Relief, Pressure Reducing, Pilot, Fire and Gas Blanketing Valves.

Lloyds Bank, London, has won a three-year, £400k contract for banking services from GB-Glasgow. The MoD Financial Management Shared Service Centre (FMSSC) provides financial management services to the MoD which has a requirement for the provision of banking services for a large number of units at various locations throughout England, Scotland and Wales. The banking services will operate under a Centralised Account Offsetting Scheme covering in excess of 350 individual bank accounts operating under a single centrally managed account. The principal services required are cheque, BACS, CHAPS and Faster Payments, BACS Sponsorship, cheque and cash banking including use of bulk cash centres where appropriate and provision of a standard range of counter services. The total value of the contract is £449,058.
