For a long time we've been searching for eulogies for US troops killed in Afghanistan, to mirror our "In the service of our country" commemoration of our fallen.
Now we've found a site we commend to you HERE
Amongst the latest of 2009 dead to date remembered are:
Spc Trevor A Pinnick killed 11 June
Sgt 1st Class Barett W McNabb, 2nd Infantry Division, was killed by an IED, Sgt Joseph M Lilly, and Cpl Taylor J Baune of the US Marine Corps was killed in combat operations on 14th June. Two days earlier, Pfc Nathan Tyler Davies of 25th Infantry Division died when his vehicle hit an IED, and Cpl (posthumously promoted) Bryant J Luxmore of 3rd Infantry Division was killed by small arms fire.
Sgt. Nicholas C. Fredsti, 30, of San Diego, Calif., died June 15, in Spedar, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.
Pfc. Jarrod A. Lallier, 20, of Spokane, Wash., died June 18, in Zharay, Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire and grenades. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Divn
Sgt Jose Rodriguez, 2nd Infantry Division, died 19th June
Three members of 51st Military Police Battalion killed 20th June
